This is one of my favorites. A stretch of Zilpo Road in the Daniel Boone National Forest.

This is leaving the Buck Creek Campground up Zilpo Rd. to Cave Run Lake. Shot with a GoPro Motorsports Hero Cam WIDE angle. It was about 50 degrees in October (2009) with too many wet leaves covering the road for a good clip. The Cave Run region is located around Morehead, KY and boast some really decent sportbike roads. Additionally, camping facilities are really nice.

Leaving Buck Creek is a decent uphill climb with tight switchbacks in the beginning turning into good sweepers all the way to the ending point at the lake. Watch that one sharp left I kinda overshoot, continuing straight is a gravel road towards a firing range. Look for the Tater Knob Observation Tower on the right closer to the lake. Pretty fun to climb, especially if you're afraid of heights. Also, in low foliage, some great aerial shots of the road.

There's a small convenience store coming into Zilpo that sells firewood and deli food, otherwise supplies need to come from Morehead about 25 miuntes away. Warm weather permits camping right on the mountainous, clear lake with some sites no more than twenty feet from the water. A relaxing time indeed. Kentucky is a no booze on Sunday state, so keep in mind for Sabath imbibing, you'll have to go 60 or so miles over to WV.
